Meeting the artist of our Picasso Penguin
At Sutcliffe & Co Insurance Brokers, we believe in supporting creative community initiatives that bring joy to Worcester and attract visitors to our amazing city. This year, we are thrilled to be a sponsor of the St Richard’s Hospice Waddle of Worcester Campaign, a spectacular public art event featuring a trail of uniquely designed and painted penguin sculptures, each one a testament to the incredible talented artists both locally and throughout the UK.
With our joint sponsors, Platform Housing and The Hopmarket Charitable Trust, we are particularly proud to sponsor the “Picasso Penguin,” a vibrant and eye-catching sculpture that is set to capture the hearts of many throughout the summer.
We had the pleasure in meeting the artist of Picasso Penguin, Marnie Maurri, when she visited our Sutcliffe & Co Head Office last month giving a unique insight into what drives her to paint such a fun-loving design. She explained how she aimed to create a piece that would not only be visually striking but also evoke a sense of fun and happiness for all ages to enjoy. Her enthusiasm was contagious, and it was a joy to see the dedication and thought that went into every detail of her work.
As Sutcliffe & Co is a fourth generation business, deeply rooted in Worcester, we are proud to support initiatives like the Waddle of Worcester. Events like these bring the community together, foster local talent, and add a splash of colour to our city. We have previously supported the Worcester Paint Festival with a dramatic painting on our outside wall by world renown artist Phlegm.
Our sponsorship of the St Richard’s Hospice Waddle of Worcester trail, working with Marnie Maurri and Picasso Penguin is a perfect example of how art can inspire and unite us all. With many penguin initiatives taking place throughout the summer, we are even having our own art competition in which Marnie will be the guest judge.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Marnie, for bringing her artistic vision to life and for being a part of this wonderful journey with us. Together, we are making Worcester a more vibrant and inspiring place to live.
